En la revista “Newscientist” encontré un artículo sobre el estudio de una recuperación “milagrosa” de un hombre que estuvo 19 años en un estado mínimamente consciente. Los hallazgos sugieren que el cerebro humano muestra mucho más potencial de recuperación y regeneración de lo que jamás se habría sospechado. Los estudios también subrayan la enorme inadecuación de los sistemas de diagnosis y cuidado de pacientes en estados vegetativo o minimamente conscientes. Después de un accidente de coche, Terry Wallis salió despedido de su furgoneta. En unas pocas semanas fue estabilizado en un estado mínimamente consciente, que, según pensó su doctor, iba a durar indefinidamente. De hecho duró 19 años. Entonces, en el 2003, Terry comenzó a hablar. Después de un período de tres días, Wallis recuperó la habilidad para moverse y comunicarse, y comenzó a conocer a su hija de, ahora, 20 años de edad – un proceso difícil considerando que creía tener aún 19 años, y que Ronald Reagan era todavía el presidente de USA. Para intentar comprender qué es lo que estaba sucediendo en el interior del cerebro de Wallis, Nicholas Schiff y varios colegas del Weill Medical College of Cornell University en Nueva York, usaron una nueva técnica de visualización del cerebro llamada “diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)”. El sistema sigue las moléculas de agua y revela los procesos de la masa encefálica – de forma parecida a un esquema de cableado eléctrico. Los hallazgos del equipo sugieren que el cerebro de Wallis había, muy gradualmente, desarrollado nuevas conexiones y estructuras anatómicas completamente nuevas para reestablecer las conexiones funcionales, compensando las conexiones perdidas en el accidente. Wallis fue frecuentemente declarado en estado vegetativo permanente. A pesar de todo, su familia luchó buscando reevaluaciones después de ver muchas señales promisorias de intentar comunicarse, y sus peticiones fueron desestimadas. In the magazine newscientist I found an article about a study of the “miraculous” recovery of a man who spent 19 years in a minimally conscious state. The findings suggest the human brain shows far greater potential for recovery and regeneration then ever suspected. The studies also highlight gross inadequacies in the system for diagnosing and caring for patients in vegetative or minimally conscious states. After a car crash, Terry Wallis was thrown out of his pick up. Within a few weeks he had stabilised in a minimally conscious state, which his doctors thought would last indefinitely. It did indeed persist for 19 years. Then, in 2003, he started to speak. Over a three day period, Wallis regained the ability to move and communicate, and started getting to know his now 20 year old daughter – a difficult process considering he believed himself to be 19, and that Ronald Reagan was still president.To try and find out what was going on inside Wallis’s brain, Nicholas Schiff and colleagues from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City, used a new brain imaging technique called diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). The system tracks water molecules and so reveals the brain’s white matter tracts – akin to a wiring diagram. The team’s findings suggest that Wallis’s brain had, very gradually, developed new pathways and completely novel anatomical structures to re-establish functional connections, compensating for the brain pathways lost in the accident. Wallis was frequently classified as being in a permanent vegetative state. Though his family fought for a re-evaluation after seeing many promising signs that he was trying to communicate, their requests were turned down. Now I remind Terry Schiavo’s case. Who are us to take the life out? Terry was able to smile, as is seen in the picture (before and after). ¿Sabías que los perros domésticos, zorros, coyotes, lobos, chacales y los dingo pueden ser los descendientes de una sola pareja de criaturas caninas? Si este es el caso, Noé sólamente necesitó una pareja que representase la “especie” canina a bordo del arca, que eventualmente dieron lugar a la gran cantidad de variedades (esto es variación dentro de la especie, No es evolución) que tenemos hoy. Noé no tuvo que alojar en el arca a un número excesivamente grande de animales. Sólo necesitó una pareja representativa de todos los animales que respiran aire en tierra seca, y éstos pudieron caber fácilmente en el arca con suficiente espacio para compartir.

If this is the case, Noah would have only needed a pair representing the dog “kind” on board the Ark that would eventually give rise to the large number of varieties (this is variation within a kind—NOT evolution) that we see today. Noah did not have to take an excessively large number of animals on board the Ark. Noah needed only the representative kinds of all the air breathing land dwelling animals—and these could have easily fit on the Ark with room to spare!

El dia en que David se convirtio en Goliat
Hace unos 3.400 años, Dios ordenó a Israel que invadiese Canaán. Y ellos “obedecieron” (más o menos). Pero la costa mediterránea de Canaán, una larga extensión de tierra plana de norte a sur, fue ocupada por lo que se llamaron “los pueblos del mar” (probablemente vinieron de Creta, la costa turca y Grecia). Ese pueblo era llamado “Filisteos”. Eran fuertes, tenían carros de guerra, dominaban el arte de las armas de hierro, etc. Desde los días de los Jueces bíblicos, los filisteos han intentado conquistar las montañas que tenían detrás de ellos. Débora, Barac, Sansón, y muchos otros fueron defensores de Israel delante de los Filisteos. Es de sobras conocida la historia de David y Goliat, es más de lo mismo. Han pasado más de 30 siglos desde entonces. Los Filisteos, en hebreo “Pelishti”, ahora nosotros los llamamos Palestinos (recordemos que el alefato hebreo no tuvo vocales hasta la Edad Media, así que la raíz es la misma PLST “PeLiSTi” y “PaLeSTino”). El pueblo de Dios fue desechado (como nación, no como personas) cuando Jesús fue crucificado. Y se encontraron de nuevo en la diáspora, otra vez como en los tiempos de Babilonia. Ahora, después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la ONU decidió restaurar a Israel como Nación. ¿Por qué son tan odiados los israelíes hoy? Bueno, ¿cuál es el principal país detrás de esta restauración? Estados Unidos, por supuesto. ¿Por qué? Ya escribí un artículo (el 31 de Mayo) titulado “USA defiende Israel”, donde explico las razones teológicas de todo esto (el postmilenarismo). Ahora el mundo islámico se convierte en un pequeño David enfrentando a un enorme Goliat potenciado por Bush. Y me repito, NO HAY PETRÓLEO en Israel, pero sí una Jerusalén… Ahora, los adolescentes palestinos están tirando piedras contra enormes tanques israelíes. ¿Dónde están los mandamientos de Dios en medio de todo esto? ¡Simplemente se han perdido! David se ha convertido en Goliat.
The Day when David became Goliath
About 3.400 years ago, God commanded Israel to invade Canaan. And they “obeyed” (more or less). But the mediterranean shore of Canaan, a long and plain extension from north to south, was occupied for what was called “the peoples of the sea” (probably coming from Crete and Turkish coast and greece). These people was named Philistines. They were strong, had chariots of war, had the dominion over iron weapons, etc. Since the days of the Bible judges, the philistines have been trying no conquer the mountains behind them. Deborah, Barak, Samson, and many others where deffenders of Israel before the Philishtines. You already know the story of David and Goliath, it is more of the same. Over 30 centuries have passed since those days. The Philistines, in hebrew “Pelishti”, now we call them Palestinians (remember that hebrew alephat didn’t have vowels until midle age, so the root is the same PLST). The people of God were discarded (as a nation, nor as persons) when Jesus was crucified. And they found their diaspora again, like in babilonian days. Now, after the second world war, UN decided to restore Israel as a Nation. Why are so hated the Israelians today? Well, Who is the major country behind this restauration? USA, of course. Why? I already wrote an article (May 31st) titled “USA defends Israel”, where I explain the theological reasons for this (postmilenarism). And the Islamic world now becomes a little David facing an enormeous Goliath empowered by Bush. And I repeat, there is NO petrol in Israel, but Jerusalem… Now palestinians teenagers are throwing stones against big israelians tanks. Where are God’s commandaments among all this? Simply are lost! David has become Goliath.

Israel está bombardeando el Líbano y a los palestinos. Hoy han muerto cuatro observadores de la ONU bajo fuego Israelí. Algunas sectas están anunciando el comienzo del armagedón el próximo 12 de Septiembre. Guerra en Irak, el terrorismo está campando a sus anchas por todas partes. No nos olvidemos de las guerras civiles de Liberia ni la de Sierra Leonam y otras muchas guerras olvidadas. ¿Y qué más si hablamos de armas nucleares? Irán, Corea del Norte… ¿Algo más? SI, enormes tsunamis, terremotos, hambrunas, desastres, enfermedades como el SIDA, la gripe aviaria… ¿Todavía dudas de la cercanía de la Segunda Venida de nuestro Señor Jesús? Si aún así dudas, échale un ojo a Mateo capítulo 24. Mi pregunta para tí: Todas estas señales están anunciando a gritos que el Señor está viniendo, ¿estás listo para encontrarte con tu Creador?
Counting down
Israel is bombing Lebanon and palestinians. Today four UN observers died under Israel fire. Some sects are anouncing the begining of the armagedon next September 12th. War in Irak, terrorism is camping almost everywhere. Don’t forget Liberia’s civil war, neither Sierra Leona, and many other wars. How about nuclear weapons? Iran, North Korea… Anything else? YES, big tsunamis, earthquakes, famines, disasters, diseases like AIDS, Chicken flu… Are you still doubting that the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is not at hand? If so, read Mathew chapter 24. My question for you: All these signs are shouting that the Lord is coming, are you ready to meet your Creator?

La Bolsa del Wombat
¿Por qué los Wombat tienen una bolsa (marsupial) que se abre al revés?
El Wombat es un marsupial australiano, el cual, como el canguro, tiene una bolsa. De cualquier modo, la bolsa del Wombat se abre al revés. En algunos santuarios de vida salvaje de Australia, los guías evolucionistas normalmente relatan a la audiencia lo maravillosa que es la evolución al asegurarse de que la bolsa del Wombat se diese la vuelta. Esto es necesario porque el Wombat cava túneles bajo tierra, y si su bolsa se abriese hacia delante como la del canguro, las crías no sobrevivirían porque la bolsa se llenaría de tierra. Why Does A Wombat Have A Pouch That Opens Backwards?
A wombat is an Australian marsupial, which, like the kangaroo has a pouch. However, the pouch of the wombat opens backwards! At wildlife sanctuaries in Australia, the evolutionist guide usually tells the listening audience how wonderful evolution is to make sure the wombat’s pouch was turned around. This is necessary because the wombat tunnels under the ground—if its pouch opened forward like the kangaroo, the young would not survive as the pouch would become filled with dirt! One wonders how the young wombats survived for millions of years as the pouch slowly evolved its way around to ensure the pouch opened backwards! Design by the Almighty Creator—NOT evolution is the ONLY explanation.
